My wife and I have been teaching the first grade catechism class at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Shalotte,N.C. We have the picture of laughing Jesus on the wall of our classroom and use it often when discussing religious doctrine. It is so amazing to watch the reactions of the children and adults that have never envisioned Jesus laughing. He is not only laughing, he is roaring. We often discuss what might have caused Jesus to laugh so hard. The children's ideas of some of the causes have left us roaring right along with Jesus. One child said that it must be after the whale spit Jonah out on the beach dripping wet and smelling like whale breath. It has been a real blessing to envision Jesus as truly becoming human in every way.
