I first saw the picture of the LAUGHING JESUS in February of 1993 on a Cursillo weekend which changed my life. I had never seen a picture of Jesus laughing, and the framed picture was at a place setting each meal over 3 days, to let us know that Jesus was sharing the meal with us! It was a real comfort to see this beautiful picture of our LORD, smiling with pure joy!

My life had been full of much pain and while I had the gift of faith given to me very early, I often felt I must have done something wrong during those painful childhood years of abuse; wondered what I could do so that Jesus could make the beatings, the incest and pain stop. I had faith that the LORD was with me but didn't understand as a child.

On this weekend, I came to really understand the great love that Jesus has for me! Always had! And thru that weekend became aware of the terrible pain this young girl suffered. I was able to give it to Jesus at his feet ... asking him to heal me of that pain too. My childhood had been full of fear and this wonderful picture of Laughing Jesus made me feel as though I had a great friend!

This picture gave me a strong sense of Jesus loving me as a child; realizing that Jesus laughed and had such great joy, and with His love; I came to find a new joy that weekend. The emptiness and loneliness was filled with the joy of the love from Jesus... shown to me thru others over the weekend. My special time with Jesus that weekend was life changing.

As an adult, as all people do, I continue to struggle with challenges. The big difference now is, I know that nothing matters much, except the love of GOD, and the JOY of knowing Jesus is my savior. This LAUGHING JESUS is my favorite picture because I love to laugh. I have a new found joy inside my heart and this picture makes me feel a real humanness of Jesus that I did not know about until that weekend.

Eating 3 meals a day with this Laughing Jesus... well I came to smile and feel such warmth within me as He healed my brokenness. I look forward to sharing this special picture of My Lord with others I love.

Remember, all our challenges are miracles waiting to happen!
